As you may or may not know, I am not very well “read”, I don’t read book, simply because I find it boring, because sitting there always seems like wasting time.
So I saw this book I really wanted to “read” so I decided to try it out as an Audiobook….
Being a constant listener of the TWiT network (This Week in Tech and MacBreak Weekly along with others) they are always pushing the “Audible.com” service. They have been doing an offer with Audible for a free book (basically it’s a first month free thing) so I figured i’d sign up and try it out. Nobody pays for this website except me, and I don’t have any sponsors, but TWIT can always use the $$ to keep their really good podcasts going so just piggy back on their offer at http://www.audible.com/twit

So the book I got (wait isn’t that why I wrote this article!) was iWoz: From Computer Geek to Cult Icon: How I Invented the Personal Computer, Co-Founded Apple, and Had Fun Doing It, the autobiography of Steve Wozniak. If you don’t know the guy, check out his “Wikipedia” entry he basically started Apple, and did all the engineering for the Apple I and Apple II. The book is quite inspiring, keeping in mind it’s an autobiography so i’m sure some things were embellished, and some things omitted.
I found the book tended to “round up” real fast, he started out being quite detailed during the late 70’s and through the 80’s but the 90’s till current took only a few chapters, wishing there was more.
The book was good over all, just shy of 9 hours of listening form Audible, I would recommend it. Audio quality was good and made me feel happy about my drive to work! (something sometimes even music cannot do)
